How did you become a Christian?
1. I was born a christian.
2. I was baptized.
3. I pray.
4. I read the Bible.
5. all of the above except 1
6. I believe in Jesus and trust him with all my heart, soul, strength, and mind.
All right the test results are in. You people who answered 6 see you in heaven.. If you didn't answer number 6, let's look at Ephesians 2:8-9, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."
You are only "saved" from your sin by Jesus paying for your sins on the cross. You can't "boast" that you are a Christian because your parents are Christians, or because of the "works" or good things you have done - like going to church every Sunday, reading the Bible, praying or getting baptized. You are only "saved" from your sin by making the decision to trust or put your "faith" in the free "gift" of God's "grace" that He gave us in Jesus Christ. Remember to keep a good grip on Jesus by praying, reading the Bible and going to church, but also remember that doing those things is NOT what saves you.
